Red Nose Day 2011

We had a fantastic time raising money for Red Nose Day. Our Ladies managed to raise a whopping £200 for the cause by wearing red, joining in with our games, and buying prints of the photographs from our Red Nose Day photo shoot.
Race for Life 2010

Curves Staff and members having fun in the Race for Life - We raised an incredible £1,500 for Cancer Research UK and we hope to raise a lot more next year.
Curves Food Drive
Curves Fareham new and current members have been working hard to lose pounds at the same time as piling them on for charity.
Generous members have given a whopping 748lbs of non - perishable groceries for March's Food Drive at Curves Fareham.
Everything collected is donated to the Fareham Basics bank where it will go to families in need.

The Great South Run
On Sunday 25th October 22 Curves members participated in the Portsmouth Great South Run. The team and other Curves members have worked very hard to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. This has been achieved by selling home made Jam, in club raffles, members sponsorship and a bring and buy sale.
Macmillan supporters arrive early on the day to cheer on all runners on – especially those raising money to improve the lives of those living with cancer. Local Macmillan fundraiser Roland Martin said “It’s a wonderful thing to shout support to all our fantastic runners and see the immediate effect as their faces brighten! This event is a big challenge and we thank you all at Curves for rising to it. Be proud of your endeavours!”
We would all like to say a big thank you to all the team and all of our Curves members who have contributed to helping the team achieve there goal of £4000.00.

On a more serious note, I appreciate that we are going through tough times at the moment, however, this is a great opportunity to combine this activity with supporting a charity.
Alternatively, this money could also fund a Macmillan nurse, physiotherapist, occupational therapist or intuitionalist for around ten months. These health care professionals reach hundreds of people affected by cancer each giving people living with cancer and their families essential medical, practical and emotional support.
In these difficult economic times, people affected by cancer need our help even more. This winter Macmillan gave out more heating grants than ever before to people living with cancer to assist those who were struggling to pay their bills due to their cancer diagnosis. In these testing times, Macmillan Cancer Support still strive to fulfil our mission of reaching everyone affected by cancer who needs our support. This would be impossible without the help of people like Curves. Thank you very much for your continued support.
We would be very grateful if you could join our quest to raise money in support of this worthwhile charity.
We appreciate times are tough, but any donations, no matter how big or small, will be gratefully received. We have set up our own web site through the McMillan Cancer Trust for anyone who wishes to make a donation on line

Generous gym-goers collect quarter of a tonne of food for charity
Generous gym-goers gave more than quarter of a tonne of goodies during a month-long drive in aid of charity.
Curves, the women-only gym in West Street, Fareham, held the Food Drive throughout March in aid of the local Basics Bank, which provides essentials for the homeless and needy.
The gym offered free membership in March to anyone who brought food in for the scheme, but existing members also took up the challenge and took items in as well. This effectively meant that by waiving the joining fee, Curves Fareham donated £4114!!
